Liverpool showed Manchester United the harsh reality. Fans couldn’t bear to watch the debacle
The Manchester United vs Liverpool match was one that many football fans were looking forward to, but after a few minutes it was obvious that it would be all about how many goals Liverpool would score. The course of this match did not surprise Bastian Schweinsteiger, who expected something similar.

Everyone was wondering ahead of Sunday’s contest whether Manchester United would wake up and put in a performance worthy of their greatness. But after 13 minutes, it was definitively clear that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his charges were far from being able to match the best.
Most Red Devils fans know this in the back of their minds, but they also held that little spark of hope that many of them lost after Sunday. One of those with his feet on the ground is the former United midfielder who expected a similar outcome.
“It’s a devastating day for everyone at Manchester United, for the fans and everyone at the club, but it didn’t come out of the blue. It wasn’t a surprise. Liverpool showed them the difference, which is huge!” commented Schweinsteiger on Sunday’s game.
Moreover, the fans at Old Trafford couldn’t take the overwhelming pace of the game until the very end, and in the 65th minute they dispersed in large numbers.
But what now? Have the club’s owners finally lost faith in the Norwegian coach who has done so much for the club by pulling them back from the bottom?
According to Sky Sports sources, United’s management still have confidence in his abilities as they believe the club is heading in the right direction under his hands.
“The management are still behind Solskjaer and will give him time until the summer, even though Sunday’s defeat is very painful.”
But of course, everything will depend on what happens next. The players themselves showed a lot of frustration, which is not good before the next very difficult games.
The Red Devils should pick themselves up quickly and start working hard, because Tottenham and Manchester City are waiting for them in the next two league rounds.
