- Kevin Magnussen, Haas (2023+)
- Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes (2023)
- Daniel Ricciardo, McLaren (2023)*
Daniel Ricciardo*
Ricciardo has clearly been struggling in recent weeks. He’s under contract until the end of next year with the option to end it early if he wants to.
The unknown future of the rest
Fernando Alonso
Alonso is out of contract at the end of this season. Will Alpine keep him for another year, or will they put F2 champion Oscar Piastri behind the call?
Pierre Gasly
Pierre had a great season last year, and while this season hasn’t been quite the same, he’s still a great talent with a lot of potential. With Checo taking the second spot at Red Bull until 2024, Gasly will have to stay with the team or we’ll see him at another team next year.
Yuki Tsunoda
Yuki deserves another year on his contract at Red Bull. He is the best performer of last year’s rookies. His best result was fourth place at the Abu Dhabi VC in London.
Sebastian Vettel
Vettel has signed a multi-year contract with Aston Martin, which is due to expire at the end of this season. Will Vettel stay with Aston Martin for a few more years, or will he start to consider ending his fantastic career?
Lance Stroll
Unless Stroll has some major family issues, it seems likely that Lance will stay on next year as the team is owned by his father Lawrence.
Nicholas Latifi
Latifi earned his third year at Williams this season alongside Alex Albon. The start of the year hasn’t been successful for him at all, and he needs to put in some spectacular performances in the coming months to convince Williams to keep him in 2023.
Alex Albon
Alex joined Williams this year but is still part of the Red Bull family. Horner said that they could bring Albon back from 2023 if needed. He certainly has the better chance of a contract extension of the Williams pair.
Guanyu Zhou
Zhou has a one-year contract with the Alfa Romeo team. He has had some bright moments in his first season. He has one point in the championship standings.
Mick Schumacher
Schumacher joined Haas in 2021, signing a two-year contract. It’s a big unknown if Haas will extend Mick’s contract.
