Líšeň issued a statement on its website saying that it will not punish its player Jan Silný for the red card. It also added that coach Valachovic admitted his mistake when he harshly criticized Silny shortly after the match.
On Monday, Líšeň issued an official statement commenting on the events of the Brno derby between Líšeň and Zbrojovka Brno.
At the end of the match, two Zbrojovka fans stormed the pitch, one of whom was helped by the organisers to pacify the home player Jan Silný. Afterwards, he received a red card from the referee and a lot of harsh words from his coach.
After watching the video, the club decided not to punish their player. “After watching the video, the coach acknowledged that the player Silny did not commit anything against the rules, the player will not be fined. The whole situation was resolved in a meeting and is now closed within the club,” the Lysen club said in a statement.
Líšeň will also lodge a protest against the red card. “As far as the situation outside the club is concerned, SK Líšeň is protesting against the award of the red card in order to achieve a zero penalty for the next matches for the player Silny.”
At the same time, Líšeň was criticised for the failure to manage the refereeing service. However, the club completely rejects this.
“A week before the match, a meeting was held with the police and the security agency that provides us with the organising service for all home matches. All agreements with the police for this match were fulfilled, both in terms of numbers and quality, the organisers were fit and young, only the main organiser is an older gentleman but a former footballer in good shape,” the statement reads.
It is certainly right that the player Jan Silny will not be punished within the club. How the disciplinary committee will evaluate this situation, we will know in the coming days.
