Colombian stopper Yerry Mina celebrated his goal from a penalty kick with a provocative dance in the Copa América quarter-final against Uruguay. This celebration apparently got to Messi as well. When Mina gave away a penalty in the semi-final match against Messi’s Argentina, the “Divine Leo” gave him a hard time.
In the quarter-final match of the Copa América tournament, Colombia and Uruguay played each other. After regulation time, the match was tied, and so penalties followed, in which the Colombian players were the luckier ones to advance.
Apart from the thrilling game, the fans were also captivated by the celebratory dance of Yerry Mina, who represents Colombia. After scoring a penalty, he shared his graceful moves with the crowd.
The remarkable thing was that this was only the third series of the penalty shoot-out and therefore far from being decided.
In the semi-final, Colombia faced a fired up and on paper superior Argentina. They still managed to compete with Argentina and kept the tie, so penalties had to follow.
Mina was again confident on the penalty, after all he had coolly converted it in the previous game, so his confidence was certainly not lacking.
He again chose the right side of the goal for his shot. However, it was brilliantly read by goalkeeper Martinez, who is in great form at the moment, and thus thwarted another celebratory dance.
Argentine captain Lionel Messi didn’t miss this opportunity and immediately shouted at Mina: “Bailá, bailá ahora!”
In the end, Argentina won the penalty shootout and advanced to the final, where a star-studded Brazil awaits.
