Lewandowski pays tribute to the former Real star! Ronaldo? He influenced football history, even at his age he’s still incredible
Robert Lewandowski is still one of the best strikers on the planet, even at his advanced football age. His goal tally is close to that of Barcelona’s greatest legends, but the Polish canon has now expressed his respect for former Real star Cristiano Ronaldo.

- Robert Lewandowski is still one of the best strikers on the planet even at his advanced football age
- He is also close to Barcelona’s greatest legends in terms of goals scored
- However, the Polish cannonballer has now expressed his respect for former Real star Cristiano Ronaldo
Robert Lewandowski has already played 106 competitive games for Barcelona after his transfer from Bayern, scoring 71 goals. He has scored twelve goals in eleven appearances so far this season and is on course to break his personal best.
In addition, he has also overtaken Manchester City striker Erling Haaland in the number of goals scored and could become the top scorer in Europe by the end of the season.
Lewandowski became LaLiga’s top scorer in the 2022/23 season, scoring a total of 23 goals. He has already made history in the annals of the Spanish top flight, with Cristiano Ronaldo also becoming top scorer in the past.
And it is for him that the former Dortmund and Bayern goalkeeper holds great respect. Although the famous Portuguese is no longer active in Europe, he is now playing for Al Nassr in the Saudi Arabian Premier League.

However, Lewandowski is clear that the thirty-nine-year-old legend is still one of the sport’s big names despite his advanced footballing age. The Warsaw native understandably recognises him mainly because of the great successes he has achieved in the past.
“I fully acknowledge what Cristiano Ronaldo has achieved during his career and how he has influenced football history with his records. This will surely go down in football history,” Lewandowski said of the former Real player, whose words were also quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
“At 39 years old, approaching 40, he is still showing incredible ambition and performance,” added the star Barcelona forward.
