Lens missed out on the European Cup last year by just four points, and this year they are even better placed after six rounds. They haven’t lost yet, with fourteen points they are within striking distance of leaders PSG, specifically they are two points behind third place.
Troyes lost the opening three rounds, but then went up and with seven points from three games, they are out of the relegation zone. They are currently 11th, but only two points clear of the relegation places.
The home side are relying on goals from experienced striker Florian Sotoci, he has scored five times and assisted three times so far. Central midfielder and team captain Seko Fofana has scored two goals and assisted on two from the field.
Florian Tardieu is worth mentioning on the away side, the experienced central midfielder has scored three times so far. The Guinean winger Mama Baldé, author of three goals and two assists, is having an excellent start to the season.
Lens relies on a solid defence, with seven goals conceded it has the third best in Ligue 1, more than once more conceded in only one of the last five rounds.
Troyes, on the other hand, have scored fourteen times, with only two French Ligue 1 sides worse off.
Given the defensive form of Lens and the fact that Troyes will miss defensive all-rounder Yoann Salmier due to a red card penalty, I think the home side will win and score at least two goals.
