Monday’s game between Leicester and Nottingham will be a battle for the penultimate spot. Both teams are off to a terrible start this season, what to expect from their confrontation and what to bet on?

Leicester are not doing well at all from the start of the season. But the main reason is the absolutely dysfunctional defence. They are last in the table and they are already five points behind the non-relegation positions after West Ham’s win on Saturday.

More was definitely expected from Nottingham as well. The newcomer has spent big money on reinforcements, but it hasn’t shown in the results so far. For now, it is enough to be in penultimate place, two points behind Wolves and Crystal Palace.

The home side rely on James Maddison, the English offensive midfielder scored three goals and assisted once. Alongside him shines Belgian number eight Youri Tielemans, who has been on the scoresheet with two goals so far, having scored and set up one.

On the away side, Lewis O’Brien is worth mentioning, the young central midfielder has notched one assist so far, he always works hard in the midfield anyway. In goal, summer signing Dean Henderson is a mainstay.

Leicester are clearly the worst defending team in the league. Twenty-two times, with Bournemouth the second worst, only nineteen.

Nottingham, on the other hand, have a terrible record in away games, conceding nine times away from home and scoring only once.

Considering Nottingham’s away record, I expect Leicester to win and break the slump despite their terrible form. In the event of a setback, Brendan Rodgers probably wouldn’t stand for it anymore.
