Saturday’s football kicks off with a very interesting game between Leicester and leaders Chelsea, who will be looking to make amends for their points loss to Burnley. However, The Foxes are currently up to 12th place and another loss would already be embarrassing.
Leicester’s biggest problem in the current season is their miserable defence, which has already conceded 18 goals. Only 4 teams (Norwich, Newcastle, Watford, Aston Villa) in the Premier League are worse in this statistic.
So everything up front is saved mainly by Jamie Vardy, the author of 7 goals, and Youri Tielemans, who contributed to three goals and assisted on two. The Belgian midfielder is clearly the Foxes’ best player this season, unfortunately for them he is injured.
Moreover, Leicester are not doing well at home, where they have won only once out of their last 7 games in the regular season. These are not good prospects ahead of the match with upstart Chelsea.
Although Thomas Tuchel still can’t count on Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku is preparing his comeback, but his start is not certain, but it doesn’t show on their results practically.
26 points, 4 goals conceded and 27 goals scored, that’s a clear 1st place that Chelsea would like to keep after the 12th round. And given the stats, they can be counted on to do so.
Chelsea have won 4 out of 5 away games in the current Premier League season, the only faltering came at Anfield Road where they drew 1-1. The 10:1 scoreline also speaks volumes.
As far as mutual matches are concerned, they have been quite even lately and not so many goals have fallen in them. It’s just that in Leicester’s last 8 games, both teams have always come through.
So, it is hard to expect anything from this game, even more so when it is the first game after the national break, after which teams often bounce back to better or worse results.
Personally, I would ignore this match. However, if I had to pick something, it would be Over 2.5.
