Lehecka advances to the third round in Miami, six Czech women will play in the third round

The prestigious Miami Open is taking place in Florida these days. Jiri Lehecka reached his first promotion to the third round of a Masters event by defeating Lorenzo Musetti in two sets on Saturday. The WTA 1000 level continues with a large Czech representation.

The Czech men’s number one challenged his Italian opponent after getting past Argentina’s Federico Coria thanks to a 6:3 and 6:4 win. The match against the 21st player in the world Musetti had a similar result.

Lehecka, who is currently ranked 44th in the ATP rankings, faced a single break point in the match, but it went unused. The twenty-one-year-old domestic tennis star, on the other hand, took away her opponent’s serve twice, which led to victories in both sets by 6:4.

After the withdrawal of defending champion Iga Świąteková, the paper favourite for the overall triumph is the world number two Aryna Sabalenka. The opponent of the Belarusian will be the 36th best tennis player on the circuit Marie Bouzkova, who will not have an easy job.
