Legend takes on new UFC champion: How can you say you’re the best in the world when you’re not even the best in our city?!

The UFC has a new champion. While Weili Zhang defended her title, Aljamain Sterling did not. Sean O’Malley imitated Conor McGregor and sent the now former bantamweight king to the ground. This, however, does not sit well with the legendary Henry Cejudo.

The king is dead, long live the king. Aljamain Sterling lost his title, Sean O’Malley won his first career title fight and is the new bantamweight champion. This is a big deal for Sugar and the UFC.

Sterling did face criticism, he wasn’t popular, but the number of defenses made him one of the best bantamweights in history, if not the best. O’Malley finished him almost identically to how Conor McGregor once finished the legendary Jose Aldo.

After all, Sugar used to be often compared to McGregor, even though his qualities were highly questioned. One would expect a win over Sterling to convince the doubters that he is a great fighter. Apparently, it didn’t convince everyone.

The legendary Henry Cejudo, Sterling’s rival before O’Malley and a UFC legend, has spoken. First of all, he congratulated O’Malley, albeit without any respect or reverence, but then he opened his mouth.

“How can you say you’re the best in the world when you’re not even the best in our city?” asks the acclaimed Triple C, who clearly has no intention of coming out of retirement again despite losing to Sterling.

Besides, Cejudo explained why UFC boss Dana White won’t give Marlon Vera as O’Malley’s next opponent and also said that Merab Dvalishvili shouldn’t fight him either, as he would only use wrestling.

Therefore, he offers his services to strip the new champion of his title. “Let’s do it in Phoenix,” Cejudo volunteered as O’Malley’s next opponent.
