Leeds vs. Newcastle: Preview and betting tips

Newcastle have an important game in the fight for salvation on Saturday, travelling to Leeds. Both teams have not lost in the last two rounds, yet ten points separate them. What to expect from the game and what to bet on?

Leeds have improved their position in the table in the last two rounds, winning against Burnley and West Ham and jumping to fifteenth place. It has a nine-point lead on the relegation places, so for the first time this season it can be relatively calm.

Newcastle have also scored in the last two rounds, but in both cases only by drawing. That is why they are second to last in the table, two points behind Watford in seventeenth. It is also just one point off the bottom spot.

Leeds are literally standing on Raphinho, the Brazilian winger has scored eight league goals and assisted two. He has a hand in 41 per cent of the team’s goals. Jack Harrison’s form has gone up, the speedy Englishman has made four appearances in the last two rounds.

There is no need to write at length about the Newcastle star. Allan Saint-Maximin is the league’s best dribbler, scoring five times and assisting three times. Chris Wood gave a solid performance on his debut for the Magpies a week ago, scoring three goals so far for Burnley.

Although Leeds have netted six goals in the last two rounds, the offensive line is not clicking nearly as well as it did last year. A year ago The Whites scored one hundred and six, this year (24) only six teams have a worse offensive record.

Newcastle are on fire defensively again, part of the reason they brought in Kieran Trippier in the winter. Only Norwich have scored more goals than Newcastle (43).

Considering Newcastle’s sympathetic performance against Watford, I think they won’t lose on Leeds’ hot ground.
