The ageless LeBron James contributed another great performance to his team’s victory against the Charlotte Hornets. He scored another 26 points and continues to prove that age is just a number in his case.

LeBron James is now up to 39,797 points after the Charlotte game

Lebron James contributed 26 points to the third consecutive win, this time on the floor of the Charlotte Hornets, and was once again one of his team’s top scorers. After this game, he is only 203 points away from immortality.

Statistically, with these performances, he is practically 8 games away from reaching that mark. Thirty-nine year old LeBron James continues to amaze all the experts, ignoring historical statistics and still not only equaling the best, but even surpassing his younger peers.

In the game against Charlotte, he really didn’t spare himself, spending over 39 minutes on the floor. Consider that a quarter is 12 minutes. He didn’t get much time to rest again. Moreover, he was once again one of the central figures of his team.

During his time on the floor, he managed to score 26 points, grab four rebounds and record seven successful assists. Add to that one steal and one blocked shot. Of his 22 shot attempts, 12 went in the basket.

In the game in question, he was only surpassed by the performance of his teammate Anthony Davis, who scored the same number of points, but reached double digits in three statistical indicators. LeBron James, however, is grinding his teeth at his workload on the floor for another record.

Another record is within reach

It’s a record that hasn’t yet been ”broken” by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The number of minutes he played in the regular season. The historical record so far belongs to Jabbar with 57,446 minutes played in the regular season. James, however, is just 1,747 minutes shy of breaking that record.

However, even at 39 years of age, LeBron still spends over 35 minutes per game on the floor, so even within that record, it’s only a matter of time before it changes hands.

Either way, the Lakers struck at the right time. There are only 30 games left in the regular season and every defeat in the loaded Western Conference hurts all the more. Moreover, the Lakers will now play three more games on their home floor, where they are even more dangerous.
