Leaving the UFC? If McGregor fights for the title, I’ll do it, warns American star
The UFC is offering some interesting comebacks this year. Jon Jones already has a fight under his belt, Stipe Miocic is ahead of him, and Conor McGregor, who has even talked about trying to win a title, should also be in action. However, that doesn’t sit well with the American star. Justin Gaethje is even threatening to leave the organization.

However, that doesn’t sit well with the American star. Justin Gaethje is even threatening to leave the organization.
We may not know when, but Conor McGregor will return to the UFC cage. Everything will obviously depend on when he signs up for the USADA anti-doping program. Six months after that, if he tests clean, he can fight.
His first opponent on his return will be Michael Chandler, the former Bellator champion and coaching opponent of the Irish star on The Ultimate Fighter show. But McGregor himself is already looking a little further afield.
He even revealed that he would like to fight for the title. And that he would be opposed by, say, lightweight champion Islam Makhachev? He originally had objections, but they’re gradually disappearing. But McGregor’s record in recent fights is not that great.
On the contrary. McGregor has only won one of his last four fights. Still, this is a huge name that sells. That comes with certain privileges. So it’s a question of what happens next. But if the Irishman fights for the title, the UFC could lose another big star.
Because Justin Gaethje, one of the most attractive fighters in the history of the organization, would not be satisfied. “Would I quit if McGregor won and fought for the title? Probably yes,” he admitted in an interview with ESPN.
“It would hurt me a lot to get that kind of treatment from the company I represent. It’s out of my control, so I can only hope. But of course there’s a possibility of a scenario coming to fruition that would leave me devastated,” Gaethje added.
The American fighter recently defeated Rafael Fiziev on points and scored another bonus for fight of the night. Overall, in his 11 fights in the UFC, Gaethje has already racked up 11 bonuses, which have earned him a handsome $550,000.
