The second game of the opening day of the LCK brought together two teams that were struggling at the end of the spring. Dplus KIA wanted to repair their reputation against Liiv Sandbox. How did this matchup turn out?
A clash between the fifth and the sixth from the spring, but also a clash between two teams that struggled with performance fluctuations at the end of the spring.
Dplus KIA wanted to forget about the failed split and show themselves in a much better light. However, the same was true for Liiv Sandbox, who almost literally evaporated towards the end of the spring.
Still, this series had a clear favorite. And also a very attractive shoe duel. In the marksman duel, Deft and Teddy, who returned to LCK, faced off.
Dplus KIA left nothing to chance and with a concentrated performance gradually built up a lead on their opponent.
Although by the 24th minute it was only 4:0 on killy for Dplus, the lead of about five thousand gold helped the team a lot. Then, during a flurry, Dplus totally dismantled the Sandbox players in the battle for Baron and scored their first win.
The second game, instead of the expected changes and quick recovery from the loss on Sandbox’s side, turned into a literal one-man show for the Dplus midshipman.
The showmaker and his Aurelius Solo were trampling and destroying the chaotically playing opponent. His contribution and performance very quickly decided the fate of this series.
Dplus put any doubts to rest after a very dominant performance and entered the LCK summer split with vigour. Liiv Sandbox were dealt a cruel handicap from which they must recover very quickly.
