LCK: T1 took a big hit on Liiv Sandbox and moved up to a split second place

The second series of Wednesday’s day was marked by T1 and Liiv Sandbox. T1 wanted to make amends in this series after losing the series to GenG.
Repairing the reputation, an important thing for T1. After the crash with GenG, the team needed to work hard again to stay within striking distance of the top spot. Liiv Sandbox had a similar motivation. Getting a valuable scalp in the form of T1 could be worth a lot.
The battle between these teams was slightly special for Teddy. As a former T1 player, he definitely wanted to show his qualities. However, T1 had gotten much stronger since Teddy’s time with the Korean giant.
The paper assumptions clearly confirmed T1’s strength and the series was a testament to that. T1’s compact and dominant performance did not allow their opponents to get any bigger. Liiv Sandbox seemed to be slightly scared.
Before the split, Sandbox players spoke about wanting to improve their approach and make up for the spoiled end of the spring split. However, they looked lost and unimaginative in this series. While we’ve seen hints of good plans, the team is still looking for a more stable path.
In the context that we are only at the beginning of the split, some fine-tuning of form might be understandable. It’s just that time passes quickly and any series that may be playable for the team may be noticeably lacking in the final showdown for the playoffs.
For T1, a comfortable 2-0 win is just another piece of the puzzle on the road to the playoffs. The next course on the summer menu, will be the BRION players, where the same course is expected.
