Wednesday’s Korean LCK program had two more series on the order of the day. A slightly weakened Dplus KIA lineup faced BRION players.
Dplus KIA had to deal with an unexpected problem before this series. The organization announced on their Twitter account that marksman Deft is infected with coronavirus. While we practically don’t deal with this disease anymore in our conditions, it is still very much under control in South Korea.
Still, against BRION, Dplus were big favourites. The team had a solid start and two wins over Kwandong Freecs and DRX. BRION, on the other hand, did not start well and lost both series in the opening split.
Dplus clearly showed their role as favourites in the first game. Canyon with his Viego gave BRION a lot of trouble, substitute Rahel on the bot handled all the pitfalls with ease and overall the team looked very confident.
There was no indication that this series was going to be dramatic.
The second game started very well for BRION. Morgan, in cooperation with UmTim, managed to push past their competitors in the top/jungle positions. Ivory, the mason who was called up for this series as a replacement for Karis, also performed well. Although the match was very even, BRION were able to outplay Dplus with better movement to even the series at 1-1.
The deciding game of the series was again very close. With a good early game BRION were able to match Dplus again and punish the opponent’s mistakes. But as soon as Dplus managed to punish the error, BRION was gaining dragons. The next key point of the game – Elder Drake, BRION kept great control and brought the whole series to a victorious end.
After a lackluster start, BRION chalked up an important win, even considering this week’s schedule. After the Dplus KIA, they still have T1s to come. Dplus attribute their first loss of the summer and plenty of questions to ponder.
