Laslo Djere vs. Daniil Medvedev: Preview and betting tips

Daniil Medvedev is definitely not as strong on clay as on hard court, but he is still one of the top players on this surface. In the second round of the French Open he will face Laslo Djer. It won’t be easy, but he should be happy to advance.

Laslo Djere is a 26-year-old tennis player originally from Serbia. The compatriot of Novak Djokovic is currently ranked 56th in the ATP rankings. His career high is 27th position from June 2019.

His favourite surface is clay, where he has won his only two titles on the ATP circuit. This year, he has played close matches on clay against Tsitsipas (5::7, 6::7) or the aforementioned Djokovic (6::2, 6::7, 6::7).

In the first round of the French Open, Djere handled Ricardas Berankis rather smoothly. He enjoyed the victory after sets of 6::4, 6::4 and 6::4, losing his serve only twice. He recorded 34 winning shots and 35 unforced errors in the match.

Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev celebrated his 26th birthday this year. He is currently ranked second in the ATP rankings. Only 430 points separate him from the first place. If he manages to win the French Open, he would return to the top of the rankings.

However, he has only managed to play two matches on clay this year. In the first one he lost to Richard Gasquet after 2: 6 and 6: 7 sets, after which he defeated Facundo Bagnis without much difficulty. The Argentinian tennis player played only six games.

Daniil Medvedev is the clear favourite in this event. A year ago, in that environment, he finished in the quarterfinals against Stefanos Tsitsipas, a later finalist. This year he would certainly like to improve on that feat.
