Czech national team players Tomáš Souček and Vladimír Coufal will enter the knockout stage of the Conference Europa League on Thursday. West Ham will play at Larnaca in Cyprus. What to expect from the match and what to bet on?
The league season ended in Cyprus this week, with Larnaca in second place, two points behind first-placed Apoel Nicosia.
It lost the title at the end of the season, winning only one of its last four games. However, West Ham are not in an ideal playing condition either.
Only one win from the last six games has returned the team just above the relegation zone, the Hammers are one point ahead of the last three in the league from 16th place.
Larnaca’s key figures
The home side is led by striker Omri Altman, the Israeli international has scored 11 goals and added two assists. Macedonian strike partner and 35-year-old team captain Ivan Trickovski scored 10 times and assisted three times.
West Ham’s key figures
Only Declan Rice has stood out from the Hammers’ misery in the long term, with the team captain scoring twice and assisting three times from midfield. Czech international Vladimír Coufal has also improved since the World Cup in Qatar.
Larnaca is not doing well up front, hitting more than once in only one of their last six games. It has kept a clean sheet only once in its last five home games.
West Ham have offensive problems too, scoring more than once in only one of their last six games. Overall, with 23 shots, it has the league’s sixth-worst offensive record, scoring only 0.92 goals per game on average.
Considering Larnaca’s poor productivity and the blanket that is on the team after losing the title, and given West Ham’s wide squad, one can expect the English side to be able to win in Cyprus.
