The Czech-Slovak MMA scene is constantly moving, thanks to many organizations, fighters are now celebrities and some of them have even made it to the famous UFC.
Jiří Procházka, who won the welterweight title, has had the most success there, while Martin Buday and Lajoš Klein, who has had his seventh fight in the organization, are also currently shining.
He took part in the UFC on ESPN 50 tournament against Ignacio Bahamondes, a twenty-five-year-old fighter from Chile with a score of 14: 4.
The interesting shootout went to a points decision and it was pretty much clear before the winner was announced. Bahamondes was angry, but Klein was much better and there was no doubt about the win.
He yelled “It’s home” into the camera after the victory and then had to evaluate his performance in English in front of the American audience. He didn’t forget to bow to his opponent.
“I would like to praise my opponent, he is a tough guy. I had to be focused to stay in the fight,” added the Slovak fighter.
He has seven fights under his belt, winning four, losing twice and drawing once. His overall record in pro MMA is 20:4:1.
