La Liga boss Tebas: Real Madrid can’t be compared to PSG because PSG cheats
The relatively friendly relationship between Real Madrid and PSG was decisively cut short this summer. This is due to the (non)transfer of Kylian Mbappé, whom the Parisians do not want to let go, although he can leave for free next year. La Liga boss Javier Tebas has also taken a swipe at the French outfit.

Have you ever heard the term financial fair-play? Probably not in Paris. UEFA introduced this tool to prevent overpriced purchases by wealthy owners, and also to preserve the naturalness and competitiveness of football.
Effectively, the idea is that a club cannot have more expenses than revenues. However, this only includes football matters, so the rich sheikhs of Qatar cannot skew these figures with ancillary income from, for example, oil.
It’s just that something hasn’t been right at PSG for some time. Million dollar salaries, million dollar purchases, almost no player sales. This summer, only Michel Bakker left the Parc des Princes for just 7 million euros. On the other hand, Achraf Hakimi joined for 60 million euros and youngster Nuno Mendes came on loan with a 40 million euro option. PSG also paid 16 million euros for Danilo Pereira, who was still in Paris on loan from Porto.
The rest came for free. Of course, the players received even more in bonuses and salaries. Messi, Ramos, Wijnaldum, Donnarruma, all got fabulous payouts, Messi for example reportedly came up with a signing bonus of 30 million euros.
It’s not hard to calculate how rapidly PSG’s costs have jumped. UEFA, however, is not solving anything. The Spanish media has come up with two reasons why this is happening.
The first is that the World Cup will be played in Qatar in 2022. And the Qatari sheikhs are the owners of PSG and they are also the ones who helped arrange the hosting for their home country. According to the Spanish media, the extremely friendly relationship may be the reason why no one will step on PSG.
The other reason is that PSG is falsifying its income. It is alleged that it is inflating its profits from sponsorship, marketing and other things many times on paper, and in the end PSG is not subject to financial fair play because of these tricks.
That there may be some truth to this has been confirmed by La Liga president Javier Tebas, who seems to suspect something.
At the presentation of the agreed collaboration between La Liga and Burger King, Tebas answered several questions, but was most impressed when it came to Real Madrid.
“Real Madrid cannot be compared to PSG because PSG does tricks and cheats,” said Tebas.
Moreover, it is well known in Spain that the president of the competition, Javier Tebas, is not on good terms with Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez. So if he has come out publicly in defence of the White Ballet and taken on PSG, he must be 100% convinced.
