“I want to experience the Olympic Games in Paris,” says Kylian Mbappé of his dream to represent France at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Young French striker Kylian Mbappé came up with an interesting news in an interview with L’Equipe newspaper, where he describes his desire to represent France at the Paris Olympics.
The Olympics in Paris will take place in 2024 and it will be exactly 100 years since the last Summer Olympics were held in the French capital.
The star Paris Saint-Germain player is keen to be on the list of chosen representatives. In 2012, when he turned 13, the Olympics completely engulfed him. He did not represent his country in 2020, but would like to in three years’ time.
”Watching the London 2012 Olympics made me realise the importance of this global competition. TheOlympics are the holy grail for athletes,” Mbappé says
”I want to experience the Summer Olympics in Paris. It’s an inner feeling, like it’s my destiny to participate in this huge sporting event in my hometown, in my country. It is 100 years since the last competition in France.”
Mbappé is confident of winning Olympic gold with the French selection if he takes part in the competition himself. However, he is not just interested in the football tournament, he wants to enjoy the whole Olympics and support other sports.
”This is not the biggest football competition in the world, but I want to experience the Olympics for myself. It will be the Games in Paris, it is the centenary. I wanted to represent France in Tokyo 2020, but I wasn’t selected.“
