Kvitova and Muchova advance to the next round in Madrid, Pliskova finishes

Yesterday, Petra Kvitová already secured her place in the eight finals. The experienced Czech defeated Angelique Kerber of Germany in two sets. In the next round, she will face 28-year-old Veronika Kudermetova.
Kvitova was joined today by Karolína Muchová. She defeated the second player on the WTA ranking Naomi Osaka in a three-set battle.
The talented Muchová dominated the first set, but lost the second set, but after a fantastic run through the third set she absolutely deserved to advance.
The twenty-four-year-old native of Olomouc will face Greek tennis player Maria Sakkari in the eighth round. She is ranked nineteenth in the WTA rankings.
The last representative of our tennis players was Pliskova. She was the favourite of the match, but she lost to the Russian 0:2 in sets and she is leaving the tournament.
