Michael Krmencik is moving again. The former Plzen and Slavia forward will join Ondrej Kudel in Persija Jakarta. Goalkeeping coach Jan Klíma will also be in the Indonesian capital. The length of the contract has not been determined. The Czech striker will be looking to restart his career, which has been stagnant in recent seasons.

The holder of 28 national team starts has spent most of his career in Pilsen. But he started his career in his native Kraslice, from where he moved to Baník Sokolov. During the first years of his adult career he tried several domestic destinations as a guest.

After four years playing in the jerseys of Sokolov, Čáslav, Vlašim, Ostrava and Dukla, he settled permanently in western Bohemia. In total, he played 91 games for Plzeň, scoring 45 goals and winning three championship titles.

The last years were, as mentioned above, a retreat from glory. Krmenčík rather presented himself with negative performances. The main one was probably the moment from the match between Slavia and Plzeň, when the 29-year-old striker celebrated his goal in a Sšišany jersey.

It will be interesting to see if Krmenčík gets the same welcome as Ondřej Kúdela did a few days ago. The former Slavia defender was welcomed by hundreds of people and the national striker would surely like to come to Jakarta in the same way.

The question also remains whether Michael Krmencik will ever come back to Europe. But it is clear that the 29-year-old forward can be a star in Indonesia. Whether he will add any more trophies to his achievements will have to wait and see. What is clear, however, is that Persija Jakarta will have many new fans among the Czech fans.
