Toni Kroos is still under contract at Real Madrid until the end of the season and it is unclear whether he will play at the San Bernabeu in the upcoming season. However, the German international has rejected a move to England.
Toni Kroos remains loyal to Real, although he could try the Premier League. In fact, Manchester City became intensively interested in his services, whose manager Pep Guardiola threw a lasso to the German midfielder in the form of a transfer offer.
A salary of £230,000 a week was in play, according to the Daily Mail. But Kroos gratefully declined, saying he wanted to stay in Madrid as long as he had a valid contract there.
Which in practice means until at least the end of this league season. The footballer doesn’t want to hear about anything else at the moment. The Spanish media then came up with the information that the 32-year-old is also seriously considering a possible end of his career.
This would be a somewhat shocking choice for the fans, as Kroos is still a valid member of the Real Madrid squad and it would be a shame if he were to retire already.
Kroos belongs at Real, it won’t be any other way (for now)
The former Bayern Munich prop has been at Real since the 2014/2015 season. The royal club sent €25 million to Bavaria for him back then, and to this day, Kroos is still being talked about as one of Real Madrid’s best signings in recent years, if not at all.
He retired from the national team after last year’s European Championship, so this year’s Qatar World Cup is no longer on his radar. Recently, the Greifswald native made his 250th start in the snow-white jersey in the Spanish La Liga and he remains loyal to Real.
Other English clubs have tried to sign him in recent years, but neither Manchester United nor Chelsea have been successful.
Kroos has always eventually expressed his loyalty to the Madrid outfit, and so it was no different when he was lured by the wealthy Citizens.
