Barbora Krejcikova has had an amazing season. With her great performances and results she has won a place in the top eight players of this year who will compete in the Tournament of Champions. How is the Moravian tennis player looking forward to this experience?
The 25-year-old native of Brno will make her first appearance at the Tournament of Champions on Wednesday evening. Barbora Krejčíková will thus complete a fabulous season.
She will have a very demanding schedule, but she is aware of it.
“I’m looking forward to it. It’s a really prestigious tournament and a wonderful bonus for the whole season. I’ve been working hard, I’ve had a really good season, so I think I deserve to be here and play against the best players,” Krejcikova said at the press conference.
The successful season has propelled the Moravian tennis player to a great 3rd place in the WTA rankings. The wish is clear, to keep her position and keep winning.
Krejcikova is the only tennis player who qualified for singles and doubles. So she will play every day.
“Mentally, I tried to prepare myself and I hope I can do it. Physically, we will see how it goes, how long the matches will be. I’m just really looking forward to it. It’s got a great history and I’m glad I qualified in both categories. It’s abig career milestone,” says the Moravian.
It will be interesting to see how the Brno native copes with the high mountain conditions. As a bonus, special pressure-free balls are ready.
And what is Krejcikova’s goal? She wants to play her best in the last tournament of the season and then enjoy a well-deserved rest.
