David Kozma is undoubtedly one of the best fighters on the domestic scene. For a long time he was the welterweight king, but in the end he fell to Kaiko Brito. In the past, there was even speculation about his move to the UFC, which he has now spoken about.

If you were to ask fans of the Oktagon MMA organization about the best fighter on the domestic scene, you would often hear the name of David Kozma.

The 30-year-old fighter has over 40 fights in professional MMA and has only walked away defeated twice in his last fourteen fights. He fell once in the RCC, and the second time in his title defense in the Octagon.

Due to his tenacity and excellent skills, there has been talk in the past of a move to the UFC, which is a dream destination for many. Kozma has indirectly flirted with it on two occasions, but is not currently pursuing it.

“There has been some communication. There was communication when the UFC was in Prague. There was some possibility of getting in. I don’t know the exact conditions, but I was supposed to have a fight with Prazeres, who then lost to Naurdiev.

I was originally supposed to go with Prazeres instead of Naurdiev. Then somehow it fell through. About a year or a year and a half ago, we also discussed the UFC, but it fell through somewhere between the managers. I don’t know exactly. There’s an awful lot of people going through there.

It’s hard to say who it failed with. People kind of pass information between each other. There’s a lot of people, so I don’t know exactly, but I don’t really care because I’m happy in the Octagon. The UFC isn’t exactly a goal that I’m chasing. I used to think the UFC was a dream, but now MMA is popular here and I’m happy here.

I’m even better off here than if I went to fight in the UFC, where I would be one of many. There’s a lot of competition and I don’t speak English. I’m totally not the type that the UFC is interested in, said in an interview for the Roundtable podcast.

Next Saturday, however, he will face another challenge when he will fight for a place among the top four in the quarter-finals with Alex Lohore, who has also given Patrick Kinclova a hard time.
