One great era is coming to an end, Jürgen Klopp will leave Liverpool at the end of the current competition year. His biggest rivals, however, understandably take this as a positive. Especially Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola, who said he always had nightmares the day before a game against the Reds.

Jürgen Klopp will leave Liverpool after nine years at the end of the current Premier League season. The German coach confirmed the news on Friday morning via the club’s official channel.

The Reds will therefore lose their coaching stalwart and must look for a new pilot soon. Klopp cited as the reason that he is simply exhausted and needs to rest.

However, there is already speculation about who will replace him at the helm of one of the best football clubs in the world. According to the latest reports, Xabi Alonso has been linked with a move to Anfield Road. He is currently leading Bayer Leverkusen to the title.

However, we will have to wait for some more news, especially of a more official nature. What is certain at the moment is that Klopp wants to bring this season to a successful conclusion. And preferably to say goodbye to Liverpool with another title.

His rivals on other teams’ benches, however, and quite understandably, are taking his departure positively. At least that was the view of Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola a few hours ago.

Klopp is leaving? I will sleep better, says Guardiola

“Klopp is leaving? I will sleep better! It was always a nightmare the day before the Liverpool game,” said Guardiola, whose words are quoted on the X platform by renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano.

“It’s the best opponent I’ve ever had in my life. I wish him all the best. I am sure he will return (as head coach), ” the Citizens coach added.

Guardiola will therefore lose a big rival after the season. The Spanish Manchester City manager has one last six months to go before he takes on Klopp for the Premier League title. Liverpool are currently leading the English top flight with 48 points. The Citizens are five points behind, but have one game in hand.
