Klein could take on Pimblett! We’ve discussed it with the UFC and we’ve been pushing it a lot, he said

Lajos Klein will have his sixth fight in the UFC in March. He will compete in a tournament in London, where he might even have a star opponent. In fact, there were discussions that he could face the favourite Paddy Pimblett. Why didn’t it work out in the end?
In his UFC debut, Lajos Klein defeated Shane Young, but then scored two defeats and there was talk about whether this might be the end of him in the organization.
But Klein continued in the UFC and fulfilled his goal for 2022. He first defeated Devonte Smith on points, followed by Mason Jones in the same fashion.
Now he’ll be looking to complete the proverbial hat trick, as it’s unknown when we’ll see him in the cage again. The fighter himself announced it on his social media.
“Back to London! My next fight will be on the 18th of March in the UK. I can’t wait. We’re going for another win,” he informed the fans.
It was in London that he also recorded a win last year. But this time it will be a full-fledged numbered tournament, namely UFC 286.
There he will face Jai Herbert, but there was also discussion that his opponent could be the big fan favorite Paddy Pimblett.
“Even now in London, there was a small chance I could fight the homegrown Paddy Pimblett. We discussed it with the UFC and pushed it quite a bit. However, he is reportedly injured and may not even take part in the tournament after all.
So I stuck with Herbert. I agree that the hype around him so far is greater than the quality he has shown. He’s good, but he can be beaten, he’s got a few defeats on his record.
If I wasn’t confident I wouldn’t want to fight him. I would only gain by the fight because I would possibly rise thanks to his hype,” Klein told Sport.sk.
