“King Fify” is coming to Letná. Wissam Ben Yedder will put Spartans’ defensive line to the test
If you’ve ever played Fifa on a computer or console, you’ll know this name well. Wissam Ben Yedder is, according to many, unstoppable, and the Sparta defenders will test the truth of this saying on Tuesday evening.
If you’ve ever played Fifa on a computer or console, you’ll know this name well. Wissam Ben Yedder is, according to many, unstoppable, and the Sparta defenders will test the truth of this saying on Tuesday evening.
Ben Yedder is one of the most hated players in FIFA Ultimate Team. Why? Because he simply cannot be defended in the game. The lanky build, the speed, the dribbling, the great finishing, both feet at a high level. These are the reasons why you don’t want to see the French striker in your opponent’s lineup.
But it’s not all about the virtual world. Ben Yedder’s shots are also on real lawns. Last season, he scored 22 goals in 41 starts for Monaco. The season before last, he only played in 29 games, but still scored 19 goals.
He did the same in his previous stint at Sevilla. In 2018/19, he started 53 games and scored 30 goals. A year earlier, he only scored nine times in La Liga, but he made up for it with ten goals in the Champions League.
the 30-year-old Frenchman already has experience with Czech teams in cups. In March 2019, he played twice against Slavia in the quarter-finals of the Europa League, and in the first minute of the first duel he opened the scoring for Sevilla. In the rematch, he scored again in the 44th minute from a penalty, but that’s all he could do and Sešiovans celebrated their historic qualification.
Ben Yedder was part of France’s squad at the Euros, but despite competition from Benzema, Mbappé and Griezmann, he didn’t even get a minute in the game. Even so, he was rested after a tough season and only played half-time in the friendlies last week against Real Sociedad.
Sparta’s stoppers will face a tough test. The “unstoppable” Ben Yedder is heading to Letná to take his Monaco side to the next round of the Champions League.
