When Real Madrid brought in Jude Bellingham, everyone probably knew it was going to be a big deal. But maybe no one knew it would be such a great transfer. The young Englishman is already even better than Cristiano Ronaldo.

When Cristiano Ronaldo arrived at Real Madrid in 2009, he was 24 years old, had a Ballon d’Or and a Champions League win to his name. Along with Lionel Messi, he was one of the two best players in the world.

Jude Bellingham arrived a little earlier. The Englishman is only 20 years old, he hasn’t won anything big at Borussia Dortmund, but he has talent to spare.

With Karim Benzema’s departure, Carlo Ancelotti has switched to a new system. A diamond formation with three central midfielders, two strikers and one free agent is tailor-made for Bellingham.

The Stourbridge native helps with the midfield and the build-up play, while also getting involved in the finishing and scoring important goals.

Talking numbers – in his first ten games at Real Madrid, Bellingham has racked up ten goals and added three assists. He has a better points tally than Cristiano Ronaldo. The legendary Portuguese has also scored ten goals in his first ten games, but has only registered one assist.

In eight La Liga games, Bellingham has scored eight times, adding two assists. In two Champions League games he added two goals and one assist.

The 20-year-old also recorded a 1+1 record in his last national team meeting with England. If he continues to perform like this, he will be a hot candidate for the Ballon d’Or.
