Viktor Peshta lost in his PFL debut, Russian Omari Akhmedov ended it in the first round. Patrik Kincl, the current Octagon middleweight champion, spoke out about the comments made by fans who are senselessly insulting Peshta.
Viktor Peshta did not make the opening night and went down in the first round after a KO from Omari Akhmedov. The playoffs are still not lost.
After the fight, however, derogatory and vulgar comments about him began to swarm, which no athlete deserves after his performance.
Patrik Kincl, the champion of the Oktagon MMA organization, reacted to these comments on his Instagram and supported Peshta.
“I’m sick of the amount of comments about the Viktor Peshta fight. An athlete who does everything he can to fight at the highest level deserves nothing but respect!
Not ridicule from the comfort of his home. I wonder what these professionals have sacrificed and done for their dreams, success and a better life?” he wrote.
Unfortunately, such is already the world of social networks and the anonymity that the Internet often guarantees. And it can’t be expected to improve in the future.
After his past performances, Pešta certainly does not deserve the criticism that has been heaped upon him. Criticism alone would not be a problem, of course, but insults, especially from disgruntled bettors, are simply over the line.
