Joshua Kimmich is having lung problems after contracting the coronavirus. He is unlikely to play for Bayern Munich in 2021.
the 26-year-old defensive midfielder admitted back in October that he was not vaccinated against the coronavirus. Last month, Joshua Kimmich had the illness but was unable to return to his usual training after the quarantine ended.
“I can’t wait to start training with the team again, Kimmich told his fans on Instagram.
“I still have to be patient because I can’t put the full load on my lungs because of the slight infiltrations. I will have to watch the last 3 games of the year only from the couch,” he added.
Bayern will therefore have to do without him for the Bundesliga games against Mainz, Stuttgart and Wolfsburg.
Kimmich also missed Wednesday’s match against Barcelona, for example, due to illness. Bayern also lost 2-1 to Augsburg without their usual mainstay.
However, Kimmich is now feeling well and should be available to Bayern after the winter break in the Bundesliga.
