Khalus is leaving Malmö, Sweden. He will try to help Dutch Groningen to save the Eredivisie
Twenty-four-year-old defenseman Matěj Chaluš will move from Malmö, Sweden after one year. The lanky stopper is headed to Groningen in the Netherlands, where he is going on a six-month loan with an option. If he impresses, he would earn a three-year contract with an option for next season.

In the last winter transfer period, Matěj Chaluš signed for Malmö in Sweden, where he agreed on a contract until the end of 2025. The Swedish club paid Liberec about 450 thousand euros for the talented defender.
The former Liberec defender has played seventeen competitive matches for Malmö so far. There was satisfaction with him in Sweden and the club was happy with his progress.
However, he has now received a tempting offer from Groningen in the Netherlands, who play in the top Eredivisie competition. Groningen’s management is in talks with Malmö officials to bring in Chalus on a six-month loan with an option for a permanent transfer.
Groningen will have to fight to stay in the top flight in the spring. And the club’s management is trying to strengthen its squad as much as possible. They have already brought in Sørensen from Brentford, Hove from Strømsgodset and Shero from Spezia in Italy.
The Czech defender, who is very interested in Groningen, should be the next addition. If he impresses the club’s management with his performances and helps the club to stay among the elite, his guest appearance could turn into a permanent transfer.
If the option is activated, Chalus would sign a three-year contract with an option for another year.
According to the Voetbalprimeur website, Chalus passed a medical on Thursday and should join the team. He could already start this weekend’s league match against Volendam.
