KFC is considering legal action against Mbappe. What is the dispute about?
A lawsuit between Kylian Mbappe and KFC? A rather bizarre idea, but one that may soon become a reality. And the moves around rights in the French national team may be to blame.

The national break is here, but apart from football topics, there are others unrelated to what’s happening on the pitch. In fact, one of the main stars of the French national team, Kylian Mbappé, has decided not to take part in the team photo shoot.
“I decided not to take part in the photo shoot because the French federation refused to modify the contracts concerning the players’ personal rights,” Mbappé said in a press statement.
The PSG footballer has previously let it be known that he does not want to promote fast food chains or bookmakers.
After all, that was supposed to be one hitch in the failed transfer to Real Madrid, as Mbappé wanted to own 100% of his image rights and decide for himself which brands he would lend his face to. At PSG, he got that privileged status that even Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t have, but that’s not the case in the French national team.
And one of Les Bleus ‘ sponsors is the food chain KFC. And the company’s management doesn’t like Mbappé renouncing his duties at all.
“We have paid for something specific and if necessary we will insist on our rights,” KFC France vice-president Alain Beral told the Sport Business Club website.
So the whole situation may well have a legal outcome. However, this is not expected, rather the French association will accommodate the star and adjust the contract according to his needs.
