In addition to the amazing racing action, Formula 1 also offers plenty of marketing opportunities, as well as the chance to visit your friends from the world of motorsport royalty, as Kevin De Bruyne did at Spa-Francorchamps. What did the Manchester City star have to say about the reigning world champion?

The Belgian Grand Prix was clearly dominated by reigning champion Max Verstappen in the Red Bull, claiming his ninth victory of the season.

Before the race, however, the Dutch driver was visited by Manchester City’s offensive midfielder, Belgian De Bruyne, who expressed his support for Max.

“I know Max a little bit, we talk from time to time. I’m happy and it’s great to be back home in Belgium to support Max and his team and I hope they have a good race,” De Bruyne said in an interview with Sky Sports.

He went on to add that Verstappen’s consistency of performance is absolutely amazing. And as you can see for yourself in the video above, De Bruyne loves to play F1 and it’s no secret that he’s a fan.

Manchester City had to turn the tide against Crystal Palace on Saturday when they were 0-2 down after the first half. Bernardo Silva reduced the gap to one goal in the 53rd minute, and Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick to turn the result around.

De Bruyne and co. will play their next game on Thursday 31 August when they take on Nottingham Forest at their stadium. The Citizens are currently second in the Premier League behind leaders Arsenal with 10 points.

Verstappen is the current leader of the Drivers’ Championship and has 284 points to his name. Red Bull Racing is also the leader of the Constructors’ Cup. The next race on the Formula 1 schedule is the Dutch Grand Prix on Sunday, September 4, where Verstappen will be driving on home soil.
