Karlos Vémola, although he has been facing a lot of criticism from the fan community lately, he has been instrumental in promoting MMA on the domestic fight scene and today he makes a living from wrestling. Which Czech fighters do he think can boast similar earnings?
Karlos Vémola is the highest paid fighter on the domestic MMA scene
Mixed martial arts are growing at a dizzying pace on the domestic fight scene and the general public’s view of cage fighting is changing over time. Today, MMA fighters are viewed as professional athletes, but few fighters can make a living from their love of the sport.
One of those who have done the most to promote the sport in the waters of Czech MMA is Karlos Vémola. He was the first Czech in history to make it to the UFC, but after leaving the biggest MMA organization in the world, he is conquering the domestic scene as part of the Czechoslovak number one Oktagon.
There, he built his position as the organization’s highest paid fighter and nowadays he’s already making a living by fighting in the cage. In an interview with RED CARD, he talked about his paydays and outlined which fighters in the Czech Republic come close to his numbers.
Which MMA fighters can make a living wrestling in the cage?
“I might be the first Czech fighter who has made it here to get paid every month. I’ve gone from ten thousand a fight to hundreds of thousands, now we’re talking millions,” he boasted of the evolution of his career’s financial valuation.
“And I’m not the only one taking it. But you can count the fighters here who wrestle for a living and don’t have to go to work on one, two hands at most. It’s me, Denisa Procházka, David Kozma, Mach Muradov and Kincl, ” he named the five most famous MMA fighters.
Of course, the earnings for each fighter’s fights are not publicly available. However, we should add David Dvorak, who is a top ten UFC flyweight, to the above names.
Theoretically, we could include Michal Martinek, who is the top heavyweight in Polish KSW, or Viktor Peshta, who last fought in the PFL overseas.
