Harry Kane had a really great night to make up for his poor start to the current season. He scored a hat-trick to destroy Albania, who were trailing 5-0 after the first half, and equalled the fourth top scorer of the English national team, Jimmy Greavesen, in the historical table.

However, Albion’s half-time goal was started by another player who has been criticised from all sides for his poor performances, Harry Maguire, who opened the scoring in the 9th minute. After that, it was Kane, whose hat-trick was added to by Jordan Henderson, who was assisted by the man of the match.

However, it is worth mentioning Kane’s third goal for the Albanian goalkeeper. Thomas Strakosha had a shaky first half, and moreover, he will be reminded by the media for a long time to come, as the Tottenham striker’s scissor-kick is without a doubt one of the best goals of the entire qualification.

The strike also marks Kane’s 44th goal in an Albion national jersey, taking him to 4th place, a position held by the legendary Jimmy Greaves until Friday night. That leaves the 28-year-old striker just 9 accurate shots behind first-placed Wayne Rooney.

So one can count on Kane becoming England’s top scorer as early as next year, perhaps celebrating in style at the World Cup in Qatar, where coach Gareth Southgate’s team will most likely qualify.

In their last game, Albion just need to secure a point at San Marino on Monday, which is certainly an achievable task for one of the best national teams of our time.

Meanwhile, the England captain has not exactly been doing a double in the current season, as the frustration of his thwarted transfer to Manchester City was palpable. In the Premier League, he has scored only one single goal in 10 games so far, which is very little for one of the best cannoneers of the moment in the long term!

However, Spurs new coach Antonio Conte has taken over and his gradual rise can be expected to go hand in hand with the Italian coach.
