Kamara’s two errors took the Finns out of the game. The underrated Kazakhs have a chance

The October national team meeting was closed by Tuesday’s games. The direct qualification to EURO 2024 was secured by England, while the Hungarians, Serbs, Slovenians and Danes took a big step towards participation in the championship in Germany.

In Group C, the favourites turned the tide. Ukraine lost to Malta, but won 3-1. England were running against Italy at home, but gradually crushed their opponents and won by the same ratio as the Ukrainians.

Albion celebrates their qualification to the tournament. The second place is held by Ukraine, which has a three-point lead over Italy. Squadra Azzura has a match to play, the advancement will be decided by a mutual match between second and third. Macedonia and Malta have no chance.

Two evenly contested matches in the Géco. The Serbians shot out a 3: 1 win over Montenegro only at the end, the Hungarians were down 0: 2 at half-time to Lithuania. But in the second half, the favourite equalised for the final 2: 2.

The first Hungarians thus need two points in the last two matches to secure promotion. The second-placed Serbs have a five-point lead over the third-placed Montenegrins, but the loser of the confrontation has a game in hand.

In Group H, the Finns surprisingly fell to Kazakhstan 1:2. The other Nordic team also struggled, with the Danes only winning 2-1 in San Marino. The Slovenes beat the Northern Irish 1:0, who were sent off shorthanded.

Glen Kamara played a big part in the Finnish defeat. Firstly, he took a bad header in his own penalty area at 1:0, which resulted in a penalty. On the crucial goal, he failed to guard the Kazakh goalkeeper.

The Finns are now definitely out of the relegation playoffs and the barrage awaits them. The Danes and Slovenians lead the table with 19 points. Kazakhstan can still go straight to the tournament, but after the valuable scalp of the Finns they are four points behind.
