Jablonec played against Randers in Denmark in the 4th round of the Conference League group stage. Interestingly, Kamara, the namesake of the hated Rangers player, played for the opponents. The match ended 2: 2.
Jablonec travelled to Denmark defending the second promotion place in Group D of the Conference League against Randers. After three games, they had 4 points, while their third-placed opponent had only 3 points.
Petr Rada travelled with a positive attitude. He believed in the team and hoped for at least a point to keep Jablonec in second place. In the first half, his plan worked well, and after 45 minutes the score was goalless.
However, the start of the second half did not go well at all for Jablonec. Hammershoy-Mistrati scored in the 46th minute, assisted by Kamara. In the 53rd minute the score was already 2:0. The goal was originally credited to Kamara, but later a correction was made, it was an own goal by Kubista.
Jablonec did not give up. In the 73rd minute Čvančara reduced the deficit and ten minutes later Kratochvíl equalised. A horrible start to the second half suddenly became a 2-2 draw.
In the 89th minute, Kubista fouled Odey and received a yellow card for the foul. Odey wanted revenge and a minute later he elbowed Krob and received a red card from the referee.
Jablonec didn’t take advantage of the powerplay. Instead, Kubista left the field early to delay the game and got himself sent off. He sacrificed himself for his teammates.
The game ended amicably. Both teams take a point. Group D looks like Alkmaar is leading with 10 points, Jablonec second with 5, Randers third with 4 and Cluj last with only a point.
Jablonec will play their next match against the leading team on 25 November.
