Daichi Kamada with one foot in Milan? According to the latest reports, this is the case, with the Italian club’s management only just starting the already announced strengthening. The Japanese offensive midfielder could sign for five years at the San Siro.
One of the world’s most famous journalists, Fabrizio Romano, confirmed on his Twitter account on Tuesday, May 30, that offensive midfielder Daichi Kamada has, as they say, one foot in Milan.
The 26-year-old Japanese Eintracht Frankfurt player has been linked with several other big clubs in terms of a potential transfer. Manchester United, Chelsea, Napoli and Borussia Dortmund have all shown interest in him.
However, Kamada himself has chosen the Milan giant as his next destination. Negotiations between AC and Frankfurt look very promising and a verbal agreement has reportedly already been reached.
It should therefore be a five-year contract, unconfirmed information speaks of a salary of €3 million per season.
For AC, Kamada is supposed to be a replacement for Brahim Diaz, who is set to return to Real Madrid after a loan spell.
Moreover, in this case it will be a free transfer, as the Japanese midfielder, who will turn 27 in August, is out of contract at the end of June this year. He has not agreed new terms with the German club.
Sportiello, Kamada and Loftus-Cheek?
If all goes according to plan, a medical will follow next week, followed shortly after by the official announcement of AC’s second summer signing. The first one is Atalanta Bergamo goalkeeper Marco Sportiello, who is expected to play the role of number two in Milan.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea could be the next signing. However, we have discussed this potential transfer in more detail in a previous article. One thing is for sure though, the Rossoneri want to be active in this summer transfer window.
As far as Kamada is concerned, he played 46 competitive games in the Frankfurt jersey in the 2022/23 season, scoring 16 goals and assisting on another 7. According to Transfermarkt website, his current market value is at €30 million.
