Juventus have to deal with a big inconvenience. After the resignation of the Italian club’s board of directors, a new management is needed. There has been a lot of talk about who will replace Pavel Nedved as vice-president. Now, at least, the answer to this question is becoming quite clear.
Here we go again, one would like to say. Juventus is in trouble and the entire board of directors of the club has resigned due to another investigation into accounting falsification. In total, 14 members of the club’s management have been investigated.
One of those men is Pavel Nedved, a legend of Czech football and the Italian big club, in whose jersey he won the Ballon d’Or and more than one team trophy. Moreover, he remained in the team after the corruption scandal that saw Juventus relegated to the second league.
Nedved and co. face suspicion of taking commissions from footballers’ transfers and reporting false profits to investors between 2018 and 2020. This, of course, affects the running of the entire club, which has been in crisis for the past few seasons.
Following the resignation of the board, it is now important to sort out the composition of the new management as quickly as possible. Gianluca Ferrero has become president and is already working on signing the man who will replace the aforementioned Nedved.
Ferrero is keen for the legendary Alessandro Del Piero to return to the club as the new vice-president. His job should be to help Federico Cherubini and Maxi Allegri with the sporting department.
Juventus’ new board of directors is due to meet on 18 January next year and according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Del Piero should not be absent.
Overall, the Bianconeri are trying to get the kind of personalities on the board that can handle the chaos and help restore financial stability. Del Piero is seen as a perfect addition with a great knowledge of football.
It is worth noting that Del Piero has already been publicly asked if he will return to the club. He refused to deny the speculation on Monday. So it seems that his comeback is not unrealistic.
