No other football club in the world has richer owners than Newcastle United. Jürgen Klopp, however, has his own opinion on this, and it is not a favourable one. What is it about the whole thing that bothers him?

According to Klopp, Newcastle could very well take over the entire football world in the next few years. In the takeover, the English club received a huge financial injection, Mike Ashley sold the club for £305 million!

However, the takeover has sparked widespread controversy over human rights abuses. The PIF is, according to many organisations, complicit in serious human rights abuses, which are not uncommon in Saudi Arabia. It is also said to be arresting various activists and is complicit in executions and war crimes in Yemen.

So one can expect a quick move up the table and perhaps a fight for the championship title as early as next season. Klopp insists we are witnessing the creation of utter future dominance. And not just within the Premier League!

“If we’re only talking about football, we have to say that Newcastle will become a future superpower. This is the third club, as far as world football is concerned, that I know is owned by one of the richest families in the world,” Klopp explained in an interview with Sky Sport.

“The possibilities that this opens up for them are huge. When the Super League was to be founded, the whole world was angry about it. But this is a Super League about one club. Newcastle are guaranteed to play a dominant role in world football for the next twenty to thirty years,” he adds.

He adds that it is the same as someone trying to create a “super team”. After all, the new owners of Newcastle are 13 times richer than the owners of PSG.

The short truth is, as also mentioned above, that the Saudi owners come from a country where human rights abuses or restricted press freedom are the order of the day. Which, by the way, Klopp also mentions.

Nor can one be surprised at his stance when it comes to the sporting side of things. What do you actually think about all this?
