Sunday’s derby got all the Slavs really fired up. But the Sevivans also need to work hard in Europe, where they are not doing well so far. They have only four points after four games in the Conference League.
First came a completely useless draw with Sivaspor, where Slavia had plenty of chances, then a win against Ballkani, where the Slavs were troubled by defensive mistakes, and then twice they paid for their inability in attack in defeats to Cluj.
Now Slavia must unconditionally beat Ballkani, otherwise their chances will hang in the balance. The importance of the match is also realized by the fans, who will not be absent in Pristina. Slavia, in cooperation with fan organisations, has organised an air tour for the match.
“It’s great, when I saw it, I was watching with my mouth open that something like this is being organized at all. We thank them for this in advance, I believe they will prepare a great atmosphere for us and we will feel at home,” said David Jurásek to the club website.
And that’s exactly what Slavia needs. At home, they are an unstoppable roller, but away games are a big problem for them. It has only one point from two away games in the Conference League, and now it has one last chance to make a comeback.
Jurásek will have a slight advantage, he has already seen the Stadiumi Fadil Vokrri, where Ballkani play their European matches, during the U21 European Championship qualifiers.
“I was only there on the bench, so I had time to see the stadium. It’s a nice environment there, I believe we will be comfortable there,” Jurásek believes.
