Juan Mata will leave Manchester United after eight years at the club when his contract expires at the end of the month.
The 34-year-old was signed by David Moyes in January 2014 from rival Chelsea, for whom he appeared in 285 games and scored 51 goals.
In a statement confirming his departure, United said. Everyone at the club wishes you all the best for the future.”
The first trophy Mata won at Old Trafford was the FA Cup in 2016 under Louis van Gaal, then the following season he helped the team to victory in the Europa League and League Cup under Jose Mourinho.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Mata will not join the coaching staff – he wants to keep playing football.
The Spaniard will leave the club along with Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard, who announced on Wednesday that they will also leave United when their contracts expire.
