There are a few names in the Czech Republic U16 team that will certainly catch the eye at first glance. They are seven players in total and have a total of 17 starts for the U15 or U16 team.
Their names are Stefan Jovanoski, Joeri Jesse Heerkens, Dylan Jakub Harvey, Lukáš Saal, Nicolas Piralič and Jimy Perrette.
Jovanoski is a well-known name, as his father Zoran used to play in the Czech Republic, he has three starts in the top competition, but he used to play more in the lower competitions. His son was born in the Czech Republic and his mother is also from the Czech Republic. He also represented North Macedonia, but now he has decided to represent his native country.
Heerkens has both parents from the Netherlands. They moved to the Czech Republic in 2005, before that they travelled through Europe and finally settled down thanks to the beautiful nature and mountains. In addition, Heerkens’ mother used to play professional soccer and played for the Dutch national team.
Harvey has a mother from the Czech Republic and a father from Scotland. They lived in Scotland only two and a half years after his birth, since then he has been at home here and according to his own words he is happy to represent the Czech Republic.
Saal has at least a Czech first name, like almost all of them he has a mother from the Czech Republic, his father is American and he moved to the Czech Republic when he was five years old.
Piralič is originally from Bosnia, but he has been in the Czech Republic since he was a kindergartner, playing for Sparta Prague. Fifteen-year-old Perrette joins Baník Ostrava and is originally from France.
