Jorginho third in the Ballon d’Or? No way! Fan kicks the TV, his reaction entertains the internet
The Ballon d’Or, football’s most prestigious individual award, always evokes great emotion. Especially when someone who has no business being there in the eyes of others comes to the fore. Like Italian footballer and Chelsea midfielder Jorginho.
The Ballon d’Or, football’s most prestigious individual award, always evokes great emotion. Especially when someone who has no business being there in the eyes of others comes to the fore. Like Italian footballer and Chelsea midfielder Jorginho.
Jorginho has had a great year collectively. He won the Champions League, then he won the European Championship. He was in the starting line-up for both successes, so he certainly deserved a nice placing.
But the Ballon d’Or is an individual award that is not given for team success. And then there’s the question of whether Jorginho was the best Chelsea or Italy player ever. And he probably wasn’t.
That’s why finishing third ahead of, say, Benzema, Kante, Ronaldo, Salah, Haaland or Mbappe seems rather odd.
While some fans just complained on social media, one French fanatic went even further. When he saw his compatriot Karim Benzema only in fourth place, he started screaming in anger in front of the TV. “What? Fourth? How come fourth?” he didn’t understand.
And his anger was compounded when the third place announcement came on. It was Jorginho who appeared and the fan couldn’t stand it any longer and kicked the TV with all his might. He kicked the TV twice more with wild expressions of ” Sh**a, ” and “Scandal “.
The video immediately went viral and instantly went viral all over the internet. Well, football really isn’t just a game.
