Jorginho has revealed the reasons for his transfer to Arsenal, to whom he wants to pass on his experience, which will definitely come in handy!

Italian midfielder Jorginho is an absolutely great signing for Arsenal, who, especially with his vast experience, shouldn’t need that much time to adapt, which is very important in the current situation when the Gunners are leading the Premier League table. And this is where the native of Imbituba, Brazil, hasn’t won yet.
Jorginho has completed four and a half seasons at Chelsea, but he won’t complete his fifth. On the last day of the winter transfer window, he moved to rival Arsenal. The Gunners paid £12 million for the 31-year-old midfielder and signed the Italian footballer until 2024 with an option for another year.
A big influence on the transfer of the 2020 European Championship winner was coach Mikel Arteta, who has lured Jorginho in the past, but unsuccessfully.
“He had a big influence on my arrival because I know he has tried to get me several times, but it didn’t work out for reasons other than my wish. I’m very excited about this new challenge and to be honest, I can’t wait to be on the pitch!” said Jorginho in his first interview with the club’s website.
It was a lightning move as Arsenal tried to acquire Moises Caicedo from Brighton, for whom they offered £70 million, but the south of England club refused. So the Gunners embarked on Plan B on Monday night and contacted Jorginho.
“Everything happened so quickly. I was a bit surprised, but I decided to take advantage of this amazing challenge. It’s an amazing and big club, and I’m really excited and happy to be here,” the Italian midfielder continued.
Jorginho will create competition for the Xhaka – Partey pairing. This trio already represents a certain guarantee of quality and, moreover, Arteta can be expected to rotate the players when his charges still have cup matches to play. Thus, in case of injuries, the Italian technician will be all the more useful.
“I will try to bring only positive energy, hard work and also my experience to help the team. That’s what I always bring with me. I’m just trying to help with the experience I’ve gained during my time at other clubs. The only thing I can promise is that I will give everything to this club,” Jorginho concluded the interview.
For now, however, Arsenal’s main focus will be on the league, where they will face Everton on February 4, even with a new coach, which are always dangerous games. Meanwhile, the Europa League will start without the London side, who will wait for their opponents in the next round.
