UFC 300 will kick off at midnight and Jiri Prochazka will go into action at approximately 3:30 a.m. His opponent will be Aleksandar Rakic, with whom he has already scored two staredowns. How did he perceive his opponent after the first one?
The Moravian samurai is back in action. After his defeat to Alex Pereira, he looks like he’s really hungry. He looks like he has a lot of energy. All that’s left to do is wait for him to unleash it in the cage and destroy his opponent. Aleksandar Rakic is no slouch though.
Jiri Prochazka is not going to have an easy time of it. The Vienna native is dangerous in all aspects of the fight. He’s got good ground game, but he’s no slouch in the standup department either. Experts often highlight his fight IQ, which could be a problem for the BJP.
However, Rakic kind of messed himself up by constantly trying to get into his opponent’s head. He tried to insult the Hosteradice native, attempted shakes, but not very successfully. He didn’t look so confident in the staredowns.
Both were intense. During the first one before the weigh-in and after the press conference Dana White even had to intervene, during the second one after the public weigh-in Rakice the hall erupted, while Jiří Procházka received applause from the spectators.
What did Jiri Procházka read from Rakice during the staredown?
After the first of the staredowns, Jiri Procházka managed to give an interview to CNN Prima News and talked, among other things, about how his opponent actually affected him.
“He’s a sportsman, he tries to push that tough guy pose a lot. I don’t really buy it. I don’t like his talk either. He’s trying to be really badass, but he’s not. He’s normal, a sportsman,” the Moravian samurai said.
“I don’t have to say anything about myself, who I am and who I am not. Actions speak for me,” added Jiri Prochazka, who could be interested in the main event between Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill, among others.
If he beats Rakice, he could face the winner of that fight. “I’m looking forward to my fight very much. And the main fight? I guess so, I want to see the result, but I don’t care how it turns out. Let the better man win, I’m ready for anything,” the former UFC champion concluded.
