Jesse Lingard is only under contract at Manchester United until June next year. The Red Devils would like to extend his contract, but Lingard is ready to refuse the offer, he would like to move to a club that will give him more space on the pitch.
The 28-year-old midfielder was a guest at West Ham United last season, where he was one of the important players. Since returning to Old Trafford, he has been on the pitch, but not as often as he would like.
Jesse Lingard is a member of the England national team, but he fears that he will lose his place in the national team because of his lack of playing time. For this reason, he is willing to leave Manchester in the January transfer window.
The situation surrounding the England international is currently being monitored by Barcelona and AC Milan. Barcelona will negotiate with the player, but they would like to complete the transfer in the summer so that they don’t have to pay Manchester United for the player. After all, he could come for free at the end of his contract. AC Milan are likely to have the same tactics as Barcelona.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Manchester United manager, wants to extend Lingard’s contract. He knows that the English midfielder wishes he could spend more time on the pitch, but still doesn’t give him that much time.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United’s management will be able to convince Lingard to stay at his current club or if he will eventually move elsewhere.
