The Czech national football team will play two UEFA Nations League matches against Portugal and Switzerland in September. Coach Jaroslav Šilhavy has recently revealed the twenty names that make up the national team’s nomination, but has now added three more names.

The Czech national team has to play its last two matches in the Nations League group. On Saturday, 24 September, Šilhavy’s charges will play against Portugal, and three days later the Czech national team will play Switzerland at St. Gallen Stadium.

Currently, our players are third in Group 2, led by Spain with eight points ahead of Portugal (7), the Czech Republic (4) and Switzerland (3).

At a recent press conference, the national team coach revealed the 20 players he will have available for the two upcoming matches.

Now, however, coach Šilhavy has announced, as he had announced earlier, that he will add more players to the list. Thus, three more names have been added to the list – Stanislav Tecl, Alex Král and Adam Vlkanova.

No one dropped out of the originally published nomination and the Czech national team roster is now complete.

In the summer, Král went on loan to Schalke, for whom he has played six competitive matches so far. Tecl is currently the top scorer in the Fortuna Liga and Vlkanova is one of the most important persons of Viktoria Plzeň.

“We announced last week that we would wait to see how the injuries of Michal Sadilek and Tomáš Holeš would develop. In the end, unfortunately, we cannot count on either of them. We filled the vacant roster spots with players we know well and we know what to expect from them,” Šilhavý explained on the official website of the national team.
